Changing Filter Settings
To change your filter settings, follow these directions:
|
1. |
From the toolbar at the top of the Message Center page,
select Junk Email Settings.
|
|
2. |
On the Settings page, there is a section for Spam
Filters. This lets you pick the level of filtering
you want to perform on different categories of e-mail.
If a certain type of e-mail, such as those with sexually
explicit content, reach your inbox you can change the filter
to be more agressive and catch more of that type of messages.
Caution: If you set all filter settings to
the maximum "Aggressive" setting, it increases the likelyhood
that legitimate emails you want will be suspected as junk email
and kept in the message center.
After making changes to the categories, click Save
Changes.
|
|
3. |
The ability also exists for you to specifically allow
a particular e-mail address or all e-mail at a domain to
bypass all of your filter settings and go to your inbox.
In this example, the e-mail addresses "johndoe@aol.com"
and "jane_doe@yahoo.com" will always pass through to the inbox.
Also, all mail ending with "utulsa.edu" and "apple.com" will
pass through to the inbox.
To add an e-mail address or domain name, type it into
the box provided and click Save to List.
To remove an allowed sender, select the domain name or
e-mail address on the list, then click Delete from
List.
|
|
4. |
You may also block specific senders from sending you e-mail.
Messages from a blocked sender will be kept in the message center.
In this example, email from the sender "jackdoe@yahoo.com"
will always be blocked. Also, any e-mail with "@example.com"
will always be blocked.
To add an e-mail address or domain name, type it into
the box provided and click Save to List.
To remove an allowed sender, select the domain name or
e-mail address on the list, then click Delete from
List.

|
5. |
After you are finished using the Message Center, click
the Log Out link on the navigation bar.
