cwis.net Message Center

The cwis.net Message Center is our answer for dealing with junk e-mail and e-mails with dangerous attachments such as viruses and worms.

All incoming e-mail is processed, scanned for viruses and if an e-mail is determined to be carrying dangerous content or "junk" it is saved in the message center for future examination, otherwise it is delivered to your inbox.

All processing is totally customizable by the customer. Virus detection can be completely turned on or off. Junk e-mail filtering can be fine tuned to aggressively filter more e-mail or more lenient and let more e-mail through. A list of approved and blocked senders can be created to always allow (or block) particular senders or domain names through.

Tips for using the Message Center

- With filters set to the most aggressive settings, legitimate e-mails may be caught.

- It is a good idea to keep an eye on the Message Center for a couple of days after making any changes to your filter to see if legitimate emails are caught and make the appropriate adjustments to your Approved Senders list.

- With properly defined filters, it should be unnecessary to frequently check the message center. The Message Center is designed to save you time. If you are frequently having to retrieve your emails, tweaking your filter rules is recommended.

- There is no need to delete messages from the Message Center. They are automatically purged after several days.

- If you are subscribed to a mailing list(s), there is an option on the Message Settings page to allow messages from the mailing list to pass to your inbox. You will need the To: address of the mailing list to add it to the allowed list page.
