Uploading with CuteFTP
This document assumes you have CuteFTP installed on your computer, and already
have created your web pages, and have them stored in a folder/directory on your hard
drive.
Full and lightweight trial versions of CuteFTP can be downloaded from
CuteFTP.com.

Start CuteFTP, usually by clicking Start
selecting Programs,
and selecting CuteFTP.

Each time you start CuteFTP, you will be brought to the FTP Site
Manager window. To add your personal web page space to the list,
click the New button, and enter the following information.

The path to the
folder on your computer where your web pges are stored.
If you don't know this, you may leave it blank.

Click Ok.
From now on, when you start CuteFTP to upload new files or maintain
your web site, you can select "My cwis.net personal web page" from the
list.

The main CuteFTP screen is split into three sections. The top section
shows server commands and status messages. The left section
shows directories on your computer's hard drive. The right section
shows directories in your web space on the web server.

On the left section, select the folder in which your web page files are
stored on your computer.

To upload (copy from your computer to the server) a file,
click on each file on the left side you want to upload, then click the
right arrow button on the screen to upload. Do this for each folder
and directory you want to upload.
To download (copy from the server to your computer) a file,
click on each file on the right side you want to download, then click
the left arrow button on the screen to download. Do this for each
folder and directory you want to download.
To delete or rename a file on the server, right-click on
the folder/file on the right side, and select either delete or rename.

Once you have uploaded your web pages, they are instantly available on
the web.
To verify your page(s) are uploaded, try to access them using your web
browser. For instance, if your page is named "holidays.html", then
go to the URL: http://username.home.cwis.net/holidays.html and
see if you get your page.
If you can't access your page, make sure you have uploaded it to the
public_html directory. Also, filenames are case sensitive, meaning
that if your file is named HOLIDAY.html you must use the same
capitalization in your URLs.
